As a lot information as I'll cover about David O. Russell's adaptation of the video game Uncharted, I've absolutely no concept what the hell is happening with it. Since learning final October that he could be taking up the venture, it has been nothing but a series of stops and starts both involving casting and story while Mark Wahlberg has finished his best to say "everything's fine." And even if all the things's high quality, then why did he begin working on one other project this month? Wherever the film could also be in improvement, Russell continues to be speaking about it, and now has dropped a small casting hint.
Empire recently spoke with the director, who acquired his first Oscar nomination last Tuesday, and when the conversation turned to Uncharted, they spoke a couple of character not yet talked about in the rumors: the love interest, Elena. After saying that he's "cultivated her fairly a bit" and "added a number of dimension," the two talked a bit about casting. After a suggestion from the interviewer that Amy Adams, who was also given an Oscar nod for her work on The Fighter, Russell mentioned,
"Oh I'd love that too, I love Amy. I also love Scarlett Johansson; there’s a variety of nice actors I believe would possibly suit. Hopefully, we’ll see how it works out with everyone who are being scoped to do this role"
Contemplating that Johansson will probably be in production on The Avengers for many of the year, one must ponder whether she would even be obtainable for the project. Despite at all times having her named mentioned in casting stories like this, it's unusual that Johansson hasn't been practically as ubiquitous as she's been in past years. Certainly a proficient actress, maybe if it takes long sufficient for Uncharted to get going she'll be capable to do it
